The Grey Lynn & Around Factor

Grey Lynn & Around works closely with local businesses to improve the connection we share with each other while enhancing community access and facilities.

We work closely with other organisations in  Grey Lynn and Around, such as the Residents Association, the Community CentreNeighbourhood Support,

Grey Lynn 2030, and others.

Collectively, we all have the local hood in mind and we try our best to collaborate to give greater benefits to members.

Benefits of Membership

Our benefits are designed to empower your business by providing connection to other local businesses, driving community change while providing a platform of support.

Grey Lynn & Around holds monthly networking events, at which members and non-members alike are welcome to attend and have an opportunity to share your business details with others, in a relaxed social atmosphere.

A Waitemata Board member is on the Grey Lynn & Around board, which enables members to have immediate access to Auckland Council for issues of concern. The advantages of this close association are considerable, enabling the Grey Lynn & Around to benefit from the contacts and two-way information share

Grey Lynn & Around businesses hold a wealth of quality expertise, all in the local neighbourhood. Tapping into this through the series of morning learning and knowledge share sessions is a great way to keep up to date and mixing with others, before the workday starts.

Often we host expert guest speakers to talk to us about relevant small business topics. Members get free or discounted access to these.

Create a profile on the Grey Lynn & Around website, and a link to your own website. We include contact details and a large header image to share your story.

Members can promote special offers to other members through our eNewsletter, the website and our facebook page.

I have been a member of GLBA for 5 years (maybe more). It is an excellent business association with its on going support and business networking events. I have benefited from many of the workshops that have been held, covering social media, human resources, SEO, legal advice, and recently the impact of Covid-19 and support available from this community of small business owners.

We opened the doors to our Westmoreland Street eatery and roastery just over a year ago, and were determined to create a welcoming community space for our Grey Lynn neighbourhood. We joined the Grey Lynn Business Association as soon as we could, and the connections we have made, the networking opportunities provided and our ability to quickly feel part of, and connected to, our community has been invaluable. We love being part of the GLBA and working with our local business community to further shape the future of our Grey Lynn neighbourhood.

The networking events are a great way to meet like minded indivudals and businesses. I met a potential client through one of  the first networking events I attended and within 6 months this  client turned into a real business sale worth $4000. The cost of membership certainly paid for itself!
