Supreme and multiple award winning “Grey Lynn Butcher” has been last week recognised as the curator of the best sausage in New Zealand by Meet New Zealand in The Great New Zealand Sausage Competition with their Isterband sausage entry.
Owners aunt and nephew team Lucia and Eddie Rodrigues both are self-taught butchers who have worked hard to establish their award-winning shop. Lucia originally a registered nurse decided on the ultimate pivot some 15 years ago moving into the retailing space and training as a butcher. She says there is much more cheer and good will in seeing customers work away with a culinary delight that they can savour and enjoy.
Asked why she joined the GLA she said she’s not about take – its about putting more back into your community, creating a better place where people can have a great experience, looking after one another and surrounding yourself with happy people who enjoy coming to visit.
There were plenty of customers wanting an “insterbrand” experience with these great customers sharing the “love” of meat across Auckland with family and friends .
