We recently ran a community competition, seeking the talent of local artists to design a poster for our upcoming Artweek in October.
Introducing the young Auckland artist who has created our Poster, Holly Schroder!

“I was honoured to win the poster competition and I hope that the design inspires our community to come together to experience Artweek Grey Lynn & Around.
“In Māori tradition, Papatūānuku is the land. She is a mother earth figure who gives birth to all things, including people
“With the theme of this year’s Artweek being “Papatūānuku, Urban Flora and Fauna Trails, I created an artwork inspired by the native New Zealand flora, with the design having an urban sculptural twist.

“It can be a still image or a moving image GIF. In my art practice, the mediums I work in, a crossover between painting, sculpture, and moving image projections, so this design emerged having a mixture of these qualities.”
Holly grew up in Hokitika. After moving to Auckland she completed a Bachelor of Visual Art majoring in painting from Auckland University of Technology and a Graduate Diploma of Creative Technologies from the Media Design School. She practices full time at a home studio in Auckland.
Thank you for sharing your talent & CONGRATULATIONS HOLLY!
