Papatūānuku – the Urban Flora and Fauna Trail

Grey Lynn & Around Oct 10-18

After the challenging year so many of us have experienced, we celebrate the excitement of Artweek Grey Lynn & Around, with our buzzy neighbourhood alive with art and festivities.

For us locals and to visitors, we extend a warm welcome to everyone to come and enjoy our inaugural Papatūānuku - Urban Flora and Fauna Trails. In Māori tradition, Papatūānuku is the land. She is a mother earth figure who gives birth to all things, including people. This week it is urban Papatūānuku.

We thank our artists, and all of the local businesses who are hosting displays of artworks. Whether the trails, events and exhibitions, and live experiences, we offer you such talent especially from unrepresented artists not with Dealer Galleries. It provides them with an  opportunity to show their work and for us all to enjoy it in our distinctive community setting.

As well of course we applaud the many Galleries around Grey Lynn that offer collections of contemporary, affordable New Zealand art for sale, along with Art Studios, Workshops and related businesses.

The message for our Artweek 2020 is Art is so valuable to our souls. Let’s connect and learn from each other, care  for our local environment, and above all explore and have fun here in Grey Lynn & Around.
